RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY
Last Updated: September 14, 2026
At The Skin Therapy Edit, every product is carefully selected as part of our professional skincare collection. Because skincare, cosmetics, and personal-care products are intended for personal use and product integrity, hygiene, and safety are important, all product sales are final except as expressly provided in this policy or required by applicable law.
Please review product descriptions, ingredients, usage instructions, and your order carefully before completing your purchase.
1. ALL SALES ARE FINAL
Unless otherwise expressly stated in this policy, all products purchased from The Skin Therapy Edit are final sale and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.
This includes both opened and unopened products.
We do not accept returns or exchanges due to:
- Change of mind
- Ordering the incorrect product
- No longer wanting or needing a product
- Preference regarding texture, scent, consistency, packaging, or application
- Purchasing more product than needed
- Finding the product elsewhere at a different price
- Failure to use the product consistently or according to directions
- Dissatisfaction with the speed or extent of cosmetic results
- A product not producing the customer’s desired or anticipated result
- Normal adjustment, dryness, purging, or other expected effects associated with certain active skincare products, where applicable
- Failure to review ingredients, contraindications, or product information available before purchase
- Products recommended through Build My Routine when no qualifying adverse reaction, defect, damage, error, or other legally protected circumstance exists
Placing an order constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of this Returns & Refunds Policy.
2. WHY SKINCARE PRODUCTS ARE FINAL SALE
Skincare and cosmetic products are personal-use products. Once products leave our control, we cannot verify how they were stored, handled, opened, used, or otherwise maintained.
For health, hygiene, safety, contamination-control, and product-integrity reasons, products returned by customers cannot simply be placed back into inventory for resale.
For these reasons, The Skin Therapy Edit maintains a final-sale policy while providing the limited review procedures described below for adverse reactions and order or product issues.
3. ADVERSE OR ALLERGIC REACTION REVIEW
We understand that individual skin responses vary and that, on occasion, a customer may experience an unexpected adverse or allergic reaction to a skincare product.
If you believe you have experienced a genuine adverse or allergic reaction to a product purchased directly from The Skin Therapy Edit, you may submit the purchase for an Adverse Reaction Review.
A request for review does not automatically guarantee a refund, credit, replacement, or exchange. Each request will be evaluated individually based on the information provided, the circumstances of use, the product involved, and any other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the request.
Deadline for reporting an adverse reaction
The customer must contact The Skin Therapy Edit within fourteen (14) calendar days of the adverse event or reaction.
Requests submitted more than 14 calendar days after the reported adverse event may be ineligible for consideration, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
We encourage customers to discontinue use promptly if they experience a significant unexpected reaction.
4. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR AN ADVERSE REACTION REVIEW
To evaluate an adverse-reaction request fairly and appropriately, The Skin Therapy Edit may require reasonable documentation regarding the reaction and product use.
The customer should be prepared to provide:
- Full name associated with the order
- Order number or other proof of purchase
- Name of the product involved
- Date the product was first used
- Approximate date and time the reaction began
- Description of the reaction experienced
- Description of how and where the product was used
- Frequency and amount of product used
- Other skincare products used before, during, or around the time of the reaction when relevant
- Clear photographs documenting the reported reaction
- Photographs of the product, packaging, lot or batch number, and expiration information when requested
- Any additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate the reported reaction
Photographs should reasonably document the condition being reported and should be submitted as part of the review process.
The Skin Therapy Edit may request additional information when necessary to understand the circumstances of the reported reaction.
5. MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION
Depending upon the nature, severity, timing, or circumstances of a reported reaction, The Skin Therapy Edit may request reasonable medical documentation when deemed necessary to evaluate an adverse-reaction claim.
This may include documentation showing that medical evaluation or treatment occurred and information reasonably relevant to determining the nature of the reported reaction.
Customers should not send complete medical records or unrelated private health information unless specifically necessary.
A request for medical documentation does not mean that The Skin Therapy Edit is making a medical determination. We are not a medical provider and do not diagnose allergic reactions, skin diseases, or other medical conditions.
If you experience significant swelling, difficulty breathing, severe pain, blistering, widespread hives, eye involvement, or another potentially serious reaction, discontinue use and seek appropriate medical attention promptly. Do not delay medical treatment while waiting for a response from The Skin Therapy Edit.
6. PRODUCT MUST BE RETAINED DURING REVIEW
If you submit an adverse-reaction claim, do not discard the product or its packaging until the review has been completed, unless keeping the product would create a safety concern.
We may request photographs of or information from the product packaging, including the lot or batch number.
In some circumstances, we may request that the product be returned to us or provided to the manufacturer for further evaluation. If a physical return is required as part of an approved claim, we will provide appropriate instructions.
Do not mail a product back to The Skin Therapy Edit without prior authorization.
Unauthorized returns may not be accepted or processed.
7. OUTCOME OF AN ADVERSE REACTION REVIEW
After receiving the reasonably requested documentation, The Skin Therapy Edit will review the request.
Depending upon the circumstances, we may, at our discretion and subject to applicable law, approve one of the following resolutions:
- Refund of the eligible product
- Store credit
- Replacement with another product
- Recommendation of a more appropriate alternative
- Another reasonable resolution
The appropriate resolution, if any, will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Shipping charges, expedited shipping fees, and other delivery charges are generally nonrefundable unless the refund of those charges is required by law or the issue resulted from an error for which The Skin Therapy Edit is responsible.
Approval of an adverse-reaction claim does not constitute an admission that a product was defective, unsafe, improperly formulated, or responsible for a medical condition.
8. INDIVIDUAL SKIN RESPONSES
Skincare products may produce different results for different individuals.
Redness, dryness, tingling, temporary breakouts, purging, flaking, or other changes can occur with some active skincare ingredients and do not necessarily constitute an allergic reaction, adverse event, or product defect.
Whether a particular experience qualifies for an exception under this policy will depend upon the individual circumstances.
Customers are responsible for following product directions and introducing active products appropriately. When appropriate, we recommend patch testing a new product before broader application, particularly for individuals with sensitive or reactive skin.
9. BUILD MY ROUTINE AND PROFESSIONAL SKINCARE RECOMMENDATIONS
Recommendations provided through Build My Routine, product descriptions, educational materials, or communications from The Skin Therapy Edit are intended to assist with cosmetic skincare product selection.
A product recommendation does not guarantee that an individual will tolerate a particular ingredient or formulation or achieve a particular result.
Individual allergies and sensitivities cannot always be predicted from questionnaire responses or prior skincare history.
Customers with known allergies are responsible for reviewing the current ingredient list appearing on the product packaging before use. Manufacturers may periodically modify formulations.
Customers who have a medical skin condition, significant history of allergic reactions, or questions concerning the medical suitability of an ingredient should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
10. DEFECTIVE, DAMAGED, INCORRECT, OR MISREPRESENTED PRODUCTS
The final-sale policy does not eliminate rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
If your order arrives:
- Damaged during shipment
- Leaking or materially compromised
- With a broken or defective dispensing mechanism
- With the incorrect product
- Missing an item you purchased
- Materially defective
- Materially different from what was represented at the time of purchase
please contact The Skin Therapy Edit promptly after discovering the issue.
We may request photographs of the shipping package, product, damage, shipping label, lot or batch information, and other information reasonably necessary to investigate the issue.
Once verified, we will provide an appropriate resolution consistent with the circumstances and applicable law.
11. SHIPPING DAMAGE
Customers should inspect their orders promptly upon delivery.
If a package or product appears to have been damaged during shipment, please retain:
- The shipping box or mailer
- Internal packaging materials
- The damaged product
- Shipping labels
- Any damaged product packaging
Please photograph the condition of the package and product before discarding any materials.
This information may be necessary for us to evaluate the claim or pursue a claim with the shipping carrier.
12. LOST OR STOLEN PACKAGES
Shipping and delivery issues are evaluated separately from product returns.
If tracking information indicates that an order has been lost in transit, please contact us so that we can investigate the shipment and determine the appropriate next step.
If a carrier marks an order as delivered but you cannot locate it, please first check the delivery area, household members, neighbors where appropriate, and any delivery information provided by the carrier.
The Skin Therapy Edit will reasonably assist with carrier inquiries but is not automatically responsible for theft or loss occurring after confirmed delivery to the address supplied by the customer, except as otherwise required by law.
13. INCORRECT SHIPPING INFORMATION
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout.
Please contact us immediately if you discover an address error. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered processing or shipment.
Orders returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer may be subject to additional shipping charges before reshipment.
14. ORDER CANCELLATIONS
Because orders may begin processing shortly after purchase, orders are not guaranteed to be cancellable after they are placed.
If you contact us before fulfillment begins, we may attempt to cancel the order when operationally possible.
Once an order has entered fulfillment or shipped, the final-sale provisions of this policy apply.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation right specifically provided by applicable law.
15. SALE, DISCOUNTED, PROMOTIONAL, AND GIFT-WITH-PURCHASE ITEMS
Unless otherwise required by law:
- Sale products are final sale
- Discounted products are final sale
- Promotional products are final sale
- Gifts with purchase have no cash value and are not independently refundable
- Complimentary samples are not eligible for refund or exchange
- Promotional discounts are not redeemable for cash
If a qualifying refund affects eligibility for a promotion or gift with purchase, we reserve the right to account for the promotional value when determining the appropriate refund to the extent permitted by law.
16. MANUFACTURER FORMULATION AND PACKAGING CHANGES
The Skin Therapy Edit sells products manufactured by third-party skincare brands.
Manufacturers may periodically update ingredients, formulations, packaging, labeling, appearance, or instructions without prior notice to us.
Minor packaging changes alone do not make a product eligible for return.
Customers with known allergies or ingredient restrictions should always review the ingredient list appearing on the physical product before use rather than relying exclusively on an older ingredient list, photograph, or description.
If you believe a product has been materially misrepresented, please contact us so that we can review the issue.
17. PRODUCTS PURCHASED FROM ANOTHER RETAILER
This policy applies only to products purchased directly from The Skin Therapy Edit.
We cannot issue refunds, replacements, credits, or exchanges for products purchased from another retailer, skincare provider, marketplace, manufacturer, or third-party seller.
Please contact the original seller regarding those purchases.
18. REFUND PROCESSING
When The Skin Therapy Edit approves a monetary refund, the refund will generally be issued to the original payment method used for the eligible purchase.
Processing times after a refund is issued vary depending upon the customer’s bank, card issuer, payment processor, or financial institution.
We do not control the amount of time a financial institution takes to post an approved refund.
19. RETURN SHIPPING
Do not send products to The Skin Therapy Edit unless you have received return authorization and instructions from us.
If we require a physical product return because of an approved adverse-reaction review, defect, incorrect shipment, or other qualifying circumstance, responsibility for return shipping will be determined based upon the reason for the return and applicable law.
20. ABUSE OR FRAUDULENT CLAIMS
The Skin Therapy Edit reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent, materially misleading, altered, duplicate, or abusive refund or adverse-reaction claims.
Providing false documentation or intentionally misrepresenting the circumstances of a claim may result in denial of a discretionary refund request and other appropriate action, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits legitimate consumer rights or prevents a customer from making a good-faith report regarding a product or adverse reaction.
21. LEGAL RIGHTS
This policy is intended to clearly communicate The Skin Therapy Edit’s return and refund practices.
Nothing in this policy is intended to waive, restrict, or eliminate consumer rights, warranties, remedies, or obligations that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal, Washington State, or other applicable law.
Where applicable law provides a remedy notwithstanding our final-sale policy, applicable law will control.
